When was the last time you saw a person walking around with their arms wrapped behind their back? And you thought to yourself, “man, look at those tight rhomboids!”
STOP ALLOWING YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST TO DIG THEIR ELBOWS IN BETWEEN YOUR SHOULDER BLADES TO WORK OUT THOSE “TRIGGER POINTS’!!! It’s not helping, but only contributing to the issue.
Often when clients come to me expressing pain between the shoulder blades, I find they are hunched over with their ears in front of their shoulders. Their overworked traps, levator, and pecs are rock hard and are overpowering the weaker muscles of the deep neck flexors, lower traps and rhomboids. This is called Upper Crossed Syndrome, and if it goes untreated or improperly treated, it could continue to cause additional damage to the structure and function of the rest of the body.
Neck and shoulder work has got to be one of my favorite areas to work on my clients!
I find that when we work as a team, I can incorporate Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques to help rebalance the shoulder girdle, coach them to focus on proper postural habits, and encourage them to strengthen the weak and inhibited muscles.
The clients who take responsibility for their wellness journey are excited when, within several sessions, the pain between the shoulder blades begins to melt away.
If you are ready to experience real results from your massage sessions, then reach out to me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.
