Many female clients come to me who experience Lateral Hip Pain.
I take note to see that they tend to stand and sit with their legs glued together (sitting “like a lady” as we were all taught) in a reverse triangle position. I also note their tendency toward wider hips which are essential in birthing a child.
Rather than chasing the pain and working the Gluteus muscles (denoted in red on the attached picture) which are located in the lateral hip area, we work the Adductor muscles (denoted in green) which are located along the medial portion of the upper legs.
We bring balance to the Gluteus and Adductor muscles through Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques and through the client changing her stance from reverse triangle to rectangle.
Over a short period of time, the client experiences relief in the lateral hip pain because the muscles and joints are now sitting in their most efficient position.
If you experience lateral hip pain, contact me to see if we are a good fit working together.
