  • Stop Slouching!

STOP SLOUCHING!  That’s what Mom used to say.  She was right.

We cannot change the fact that everything we do in IN FRONT of us.  But we can change how we respond to it … retrain our brain how to sit up and stand up straight!

Constantly sitting in flexion can cause such symptoms as:

    ⚠️a) HEADACHE
    ⚠️b) DOWAGER’s HUMP
    ⚠️c) RIB PAIN
    ⚠️d) LOW BACK PAIN
    ⚠️e) HIP PAIN
    ⚠️f) KNEE PAIN
    ⚠️g) FAULTY BREATHING
    ⚠️h) ROTATOR CUFF
    ⚠️i) CARPAL TUNNEL

Other negative effects of slouching can include deterioration and degeneration of the spine, disc problems, and intestinal dysfunction.

As a Master Myoskeletal Therapist, I am the missing piece in your wellness journey who can help you to reverse many of these symptoms by retraining the soft tissue (muscles, fascia, bones) how to function in the most optimal manner.

If you are ready to break the flexion addicted cycle, then reach out to me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.

  • Proper Balance Between Stability & Mobility

This picture speaks a thousand words as it describes the proper balance between Stability versus Mobility of our structure so that we can get the most effective use out of our bodies.

I recall a long-term client of mine who had always struggled with knee issues.  He’s an active man in his late 40’s who tends to be aggressive with his sports like mini triathlon, padel, and P90x.

I never really knew what to do for him until I was introduced to this concept of Stability versus Mobility.

Then I began to realize that not only were his hips stiff and restricted (ie Stability) but also his ankles.  Ah-huh!  His body was, in a sense, switched.  And because of this, his knees had become the weak link and were functioning in a state of Mobility.  No wonder he had experienced so many knee injuries.

We began to incorporate into our sessions several Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques to introduce mobility into his hips and ankles.  Over the next few sessions, he noted less knee discomfort and better range of motion when performing his sports.

If you are ready to experience fewer injuries and better performance from your active yet aging body, then reach out to me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.
