  • Do You Experience Back Pain?

    I can help!  Here’s how …

As the client slowly engages the pelvis through cat-cow movements, I apply controlled gliding strokes across the erector spinea group of muscles to release the spasm. MYOSKELETAL ALIGNMENT TECHNIQUES are effective because the client’s brain is communicating with the muscles telling them that it is now safe to release.

Generally after several sessions, the client begins to notice pain that is less intense and less frequent.  As they develop healthy postural habits, the pain ultimately subsides.

If you are ready to reduce low back pain and avoid unnecessary surgery, call me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.

  • Proper Balance Between Stability & Mobility

This picture speaks a thousand words as it describes the proper balance between Stability versus Mobility of our structure so that we can get the most effective use out of our bodies.

I recall a long-term client of mine who had always struggled with knee issues.  He’s an active man in his late 40’s who tends to be aggressive with his sports like mini triathlon, padel, and P90x.

I never really knew what to do for him until I was introduced to this concept of Stability versus Mobility.

Then I began to realize that not only were his hips stiff and restricted (ie Stability) but also his ankles.  Ah-huh!  His body was, in a sense, switched.  And because of this, his knees had become the weak link and were functioning in a state of Mobility.  No wonder he had experienced so many knee injuries.

We began to incorporate into our sessions several Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques to introduce mobility into his hips and ankles.  Over the next few sessions, he noted less knee discomfort and better range of motion when performing his sports.

If you are ready to experience fewer injuries and better performance from your active yet aging body, then reach out to me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.

  • Postural Imbalances of the Pelvis

Pain is an indication that your body wants you to change your postural patterns.

Many times I find that clients have a pelvis that is not balanced.  This imbalance could be the source of not only their low back into hip pain, but also neck into shoulder pain.

It seems as though the client has created a postural pattern over a period of time that creates the tendency for the right ilium to appear anteriorly rotated with the left ilium posteriorly rotated.

I have found several Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques to work well in rebalancing the pelvis, such as squeezing bridge and active quad release.

If you experience low back into hip pain or neck into shoulder pain, I encourage you to reach out to me to discuss if we may be a good fit for working together.

  • History of Sprained Ankles That Haven’t Properly Healed

A client who loves hiking has a history of a broken right calcaneus (heel) and sprained ankle.  She feels pain in the lateral dorsal (top) portion of her foot leading up to the knee and hip, especially when walking down hill and for several days after a hike.

During our session, she actively participated in several of the Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques, one of which was Plantar Flexion and Dorsiflexion of the foot while I applied detailed gliding strokes to the Retinacula of the Ankle.  The Retinacula acts as a stirrup to stabilize the foot structure.

A week later, she shared with me one episode of ankle pain while hiking but much improved overall.  We repeated the technique during the session.  Two weeks later, she exclaimed that her foot had never felt so good!

If you suffer from a history of sprained ankles that haven’t properly healed, then contact me so that you can return to your favorite activity free of pain!
